FMG is the operating company of Munich Airport. Within just a few years of opening in 1992, the airport´s outstanding growth performance elevated it to join the ranks of Europe´s busiest passenger airports.
The FMG has a comprehensive risk management system in place that serves to identify, assess and track risks. The primary goal of our risk management is to take a controlled approach to risks as well as risk control measures. It also covers all aspects of sustainability on which a monetary value can be placed. Risks in the individual areas are identified and assessed based on their likelihood of occurrence and on a quantification of the scale of their monetary impact in the event of occurrence. Depending on the level of damage and the likelihood of occurrence, this system distinguishes between risks to be observed, risks to be monitored, material risks and existence-threatening risks.
„The picture of the future 2025“ identified five strategic fields of action which represent the most crucial strategic opportunities. Air traffic development with the aim of building on the position as an air traffic hub. Landside access and traffic development which are important to become a multimodal ground traffic hub, improving rail access and support alternative travel approaches. The transition between transport modes should be “seamless†for passengers. The expansion of non-aviation business is based on a wide array of products, services and events and realized in close collaboration with surrounding municipalities. Munich Airport is also building up its international business.
