HKIA has a global network covering over 190 destinations worldwide, including 47 in Mainland. Located less than five flying hours from half of the population of the world, HKIA is one of the busiest aviation hubs in the world handling 69.7 million passenger trips and moved 4.3 million tonnes of cargo in the fiscal year ending 31 March 2016. Established in 1995, AAHK is a statutory body wholly owned by the Hong Kong SAR Government and is responsible for the provision, operation, development and maintenance of HKIA. Together with the airport community, AAHK contributes to the sustainable growth of HKIA, reinforcing its role as an important resource for the Hong Kong community.
